Every June, rainbow flags wave in cities around the world. But for many LGBTQ+ Africans, Pride Month isn’t just about parades and parties — it’s about visibility, survival, and the ongoing fight for dignity.
Tucked away in the vast, untamed wilderness of northern Kenya, the Lewa Safari Marathon has earned its place as one of the world’s most remarkable endurance events. Far from the asphalt streets of typical city marathons, this race unfolds along rugged dirt tracks, under the watchful gaze of elephants, rhinos, and giraffes.
