Moonshine Returns to Nairobi for a Third Night of Afro-Diasporic Sound

The global club night Moonshine lands back in Nairobi this Friday, 10 July, for its third edition in the city. Presented by Moonshine, The Mist, and OPAK, the party takes over MASSHOUSE from 10pm, with doors staying open until the early hours.
Moonshine built its name on a simple premise: club music that traces its roots to Africa and the African diaspora, played loud and played late. The collective usually times its parties to the Saturday after every full moon, but Nairobi gets an early one this round, landing on a Friday night instead.
The lineup pulls from three continents. DJ P2N and Pierre Kwenders headline alongside San Farafina, Coco Em, Getty DJ, Badman Bantou, Sukuma Wiki, and Ssismiong. Expect a set list that moves through afrohouse, amapiano, rumba, gqom, kuduro, coupé décalé, and deep house, with detours into jungle, breaks, and techno as the night wears on.
This marks Moonshine’s third stop in Nairobi, following an edition at Muz Club in Westlands earlier this year. The series has built a following across cities including Kampala, Addis Ababa, Paris, and Montreal, with each stop drawing on local selectors alongside touring names. This edition strengthens the link between Nairobi’s club scene and the wider East African underground, pairing touring DJs with local favourites on the decks.
Organisers have been clear about the tone they want on the floor: a space free of discrimination, where the focus stays on the music. Capacity is limited, so early arrival is worth it if you want room to move by midnight.
