WRITE YOUR FIRST BOOK – A workshop with Tara

Every book begins long before the first sentence.

It begins with a shift in identity. A quiet, internal moment where you stop saying “I want to write a book” and begin to understand that you are the person who writes it.

This two-hour workshop is not about learning how to structure a book or plan chapters. It is about something much more fundamental than that. It is about the relationship between you and the work that is trying to come through you, and what it means to live your life as the person who is writing it.

Together, you will explore three moving parts: the author, the book, and the life around it. Because a book does not appear in isolation. It is shaped by who you are, where you are in your life, what you are noticing, what you are questioning, and what you feel compelled to say.

Through a series of guided reflections, embodied practices, and creative exercises, this workshop invites you to step into authorship not as an ambition, but as an identity. To begin listening more closely to your own voice. To recognise the themes, questions, and ideas that continue to return to you. And to start seeing the book not as a distant project, but as something already in motion.

By the end of the session, you may not have a title or a chapter plan, but you will have something far more useful: a clearer sense of the book that is asking to be written, a deeper understanding of yourself as the person who will write it, and practical tools to help you access your creative voice and direction when you sit down to work.

There will also be time at the end for conversation, particularly for those who are curious about the writing process, publishing, and Tara’s embodied partnership publishing model.

This workshop is for anyone who has felt that persistent idea, the one that keeps returning, the one that feels less like a choice and more like a quiet instruction. You do not need writing experience, and you do not need a fully formed idea. You only need to recognise that somewhere along the way, a book found you, and that you might be ready to begin.
