Nyege Nyege 2025: A New Decade, A New Home, A New Flame

Africa’s most adventurous music festival is entering a bold new chapter.

Nyege Nyege has just dropped the first details of its highly anticipated 2025 edition, marking a full decade of radical joy, rave-fuelled resistance, and cultural revolution. This year’s milestone event will take place from 20th to 23rd November, and for the first time, the festival moves to a brand new home: Kalagala Falls, a sacred and community-held site nestled along the Nile River in Uganda.

Located just 20 minutes from Jinja Town—and only six hours from Nairobi—the new venue is steeped in ancestral significance. Think sacred trees, ancient gathering spaces, and the kind of natural beauty that makes you believe in magic again. The move signals a long-term commitment to the space: Nyege Nyege’s new home for the next ten years.

The 2025 theme? Ekigunda Ky’omuliro – The Gathering Of The Flame. Expect fire, literally and metaphorically.

No official line-up has been released just yet, but if past editions are anything to go by—where artists like Kampire, DJ Travella, Tash LC, Acid Pauli, Jamz Supernova, Mina & Bryte, and Authentically Plastic set dancefloors ablaze—we’re in for another genre-bending, boundary-pushing, late-into-the-morning sonic pilgrimage.
